Constant Content vs Quiet Compemplation

These little tools.

I use them on my walks, on the plane, and while cleaning. The more I hear, the more it pulls me in.

One interesting podcast or show leads to the next, like the infinite scarves a clown pulls out of his coat pocket.

Before I know it, time passes and sometimes is wasted.

Too much input does not give the brain time to digest, consider, or rest.

Constant listening has a hypnotic hold, making silence an awkward choice.

Is it a grasp at knowing it all?

Is it a peek into shocking headlines and global gossip?

Is it a tool used to avoid social interaction?

How much listening and learning do I need to do?

Can you relate? How do you regulate the content?
